The bank’s Board of Directors approved the financial statements for the nine-month period, which show strong growth across lending, treasury and fee-based income. Profit after tax stood at Rs7.41 billion, with earnings per share of Rs12.31. President and CEO Jahanzeb Khan said the growth was translating into sustainable financial performance, and the bank will deepen its work in lending, savings, remittances and Islamic banking.

What it means for people in Pakistan

For the millions of Pakistanis who use easypaisa for payments, savings and remittances, the results point to a digital bank that is growing quickly while staying well capitalised. Strong deposit growth and rising fee income from payment services suggest more people are moving everyday banking onto their phones, and the bank’s plans to deepen lending, savings and Islamic banking could mean wider access to credit and savings products for customers who may never visit a traditional bank branch.
