Ten Pakistani climate businesses are seeking a combined US$51 million in investment over the next 12 months to expand practical green solutions, after presenting their plans directly to investors, banks and development finance institutions at a two-day roadshow in Karachi on October 27 and 28, 2026.

What happened?

The businesses took part in the Climate Finance Accelerator Pakistan Investor Roadshow, a UK-funded programme implemented by DAI on behalf of the UK Government. With specialist technical and financial advice, the companies strengthened their investment proposals before meeting potential funders in Karachi. The event also brought government, investor and industry representatives together to discuss how Pakistan can attract more private finance for climate projects by addressing policy, regulatory and market barriers.

Key details

  • 10 businesses are seeking a combined US$51 million over the next 12 months.
  • Together, the businesses have a three-year investment pipeline worth US$120 million.
  • The businesses span five sectors: agriculture and land use, waste and circular economy, clean energy, building and construction, and e-mobility.
  • They include solar, biomethane, waste-recycling, compost, building-energy and electric-bus ventures, among others.
  • Between 2022 and 2024, the same UK-funded programme supported 22 projects in Pakistan and helped mobilise US$40 million in investment for climate projects.
  • The initiative sits within the UK-Pakistan Green Compact, signed by the two governments last December.

What it means for people in Pakistan

If the businesses secure the funding they are seeking, their work could reduce pollution, create jobs, improve waste management and expand access to cleaner energy and transport. For households and small firms, that could mean more affordable solar power, better waste services and cleaner urban transport options over time. The roadshow also signals growing international investor interest in Pakistan’s green economy, which could open further opportunities for local entrepreneurs working on climate solutions.
