The benchmark KSE-100 Index surged 7,477 points, or 4.5 per cent, in the first week of November to close at 173,887 points on Friday, November 6, 2026, marking the Pakistan Stock Exchange’s strongest weekly rally in nearly six months.

What happened?

The market recovered strongly after October’s bearish spell, as falling international oil prices, easing inflation and hopes of reduced geopolitical tensions lifted investor sentiment. The index rose from 166,409 points at the close of the previous week, according to brokerage house Arif Habib Ltd.

What it means for people in Pakistan

For savers and small investors, a strong week at the stock exchange reflects growing confidence in listed companies and the wider economy, and it can lift the value of pension funds and mutual funds linked to shares. Share prices can fall as well as rise, however, so a weekly rally is a snapshot of the moment rather than a guarantee of future gains. For businesses, a stronger market can make it easier to raise funds for expansion, which in turn can support jobs and growth.
