Must read

Ten Pakistani businesses developing climate-friendly solutions are seeking a combined US$51 million in investment over the next 12 months, after presenting their plans to investors at a two-day roadshow in Karachi on October 27 and 28, 2026.

What happened?

The Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA) Pakistan Investor Roadshow, backed by the UK Government and implemented by DAI, brought the ten businesses together with investors, banks and development finance institutions in Karachi. The businesses had received UK-funded technical and financial advice to strengthen their investment proposals before pitching them directly.

Key details

  • Ten businesses seeking a combined US$51 million over the next 12 months.
  • Three-year investment pipeline worth US$120 million across the cohort.
  • Sectors covered: agriculture and land use, waste and circular economy, clean energy, building and construction, and e-mobility.
  • Roadshow held in Karachi on October 27 and 28, 2026.
  • CFA Pakistan is implemented by DAI on behalf of the UK Government.
  • Between 2022 and 2024, the programme supported 22 projects in Pakistan and helped mobilise US$40 million in investment for climate projects.
  • British Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi Alison Blackburne said the UK’s climate partnership with Pakistan increasingly focuses on mobilising climate finance and strengthening adaptation and resilience.

What it means for people in Pakistan

For households and small businesses, more private investment in clean energy, efficient buildings and cleaner transport could mean lower energy costs and new jobs over time. The roadshow also signals growing investor interest in practical climate solutions built in Pakistan, from farming to waste recycling.
