The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered 5,003 new companies in October 2026, taking the total number of registered companies in the country to 321,794.

The SECP announced the October incorporation figures on November 5, saying nearly all of the new registrations were completed online through its eZfile portal, which is integrated with federal and provincial systems.

What it means for people in Pakistan
The steady pace of new company registrations points to continued growth in Pakistan’s formal economy, with almost every new business now registering online instead of through paperwork. The IT sector leading the list again suggests technology remains the most popular area for new businesses, while the spread of registrations across all provinces shows entrepreneurial activity is not limited to the big cities. For people starting a business, the online system means registration can be completed without visiting an SECP office.
