OneOffice, a Montreal-based software company, has signed a commercial agreement with Pakistan-based IT firm ZIEL Global to bring an affordable, user-hosted email service and a complete cloud-based office suite to the Pakistani market, the agreement announced on October 30, 2026, says.
What happened?
The Consulate General of Pakistan in Montreal announced the deal, describing it as the first entry of a Canadian IT service provider into the Pakistani market. Under the agreement, ZIEL Global will introduce OneOffice’s platform to Pakistani businesses, government institutions and large enterprises.
Key details
- OneOffice is the software-as-a-service brand of ZeGenie Inc., based in Montreal, Canada.
- The platform bundles domain-based business email, document editing, file sharing, team chat, video calls, project management, enterprise resource planning (ERP) and AI tools in a single encrypted application.
- Unlike standard cloud suites, customers can host the service on the cloud infrastructure of their choice, including private servers, keeping control over where their data lives.
- OneOffice says its products cost less than half of what many global competitors charge.
- The announcement cites market estimates that millions of domain email accounts and office-suite subscriptions are in use across Pakistan, with users spending an average of USD 84 a year on each.
- OneOffice already serves governments and large enterprises in Algeria, Cameroon, Egypt, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia and South Africa.
- The agreement was facilitated by Faisal Abro, Consul General of Pakistan in Montreal, as part of a push to attract international technology companies to Pakistan.
What it means for people in Pakistan
For Pakistani businesses paying for foreign software subscriptions in dollars, a locally hosted, lower-cost office suite could cut a real monthly expense, while keeping business email and documents under their own control. Small firms and public institutions stand to gain most if the promised pricing holds once the service reaches the local market.
